L&D Pools – Fiberglass Pool Linings, Repairs & Installations

1. Introduction

L&D Pools (“the Service Provider”) has been shaping the fiberglass pool industry since 1989. By requesting or accepting any quotation, service, or invoice from L&D Pools, the Client (“the Client”) agrees to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all pool linings, repairs, installations, plumbing work, and related services.


2. Scope of Services

L&D Pools provides professional fiberglass pool services, including:

Fiberglass linings and relining

Structural crack repairs and shell restoration

New fiberglass pool installations

Complete pool plumbing and circulation systems

Installation of pumps, filters, chlorinators, and essential equipment

Modernisation and upgrades of older pools

Any work not explicitly included in the quotation will be billed as additional.


3. Quotations & Pricing

Quotations are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change if the scope of work changes or if additional structural issues are discovered once work begins.

All material, labour, and equipment costs will be clearly itemised.

L&D Pools reserves the right to adjust pricing due to supplier increases or unforeseen conditions.


4. Payment Terms

All equipment supplied remains the property of L&D Pools until fully paid.


5. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

Provide safe and reasonable access to the pool and work area.

Ensure the pool is drained when required (unless L&D Pools is contracted to do so).

Inform L&D Pools of any known leaks, structural issues, electrical hazards, or previous repairs.

Maintain correct water levels after completion of work.

Keep pets and children away from the work area for safety reasons.

Failure to meet these responsibilities may delay the project or affect the final result.


6. Service Limitations

L&D Pools is not responsible for:

Pre‑existing structural defects, underground leaks, or soil movement

Damage caused by incorrect water chemistry maintained by the Client

Electrical faults, power surges, or pump failure unrelated to workmanship

Algae growth caused by insufficient filtration or poor water balance

Issues arising from third‑party installations or equipment not supplied by L&D Pools

Where hidden defects are discovered during work, additional charges may apply.


7. Warranties

All new equipment supplied carries the manufacturer’s warranty only.

Fiberglass linings carry a workmanship warranty as specified in the quotation.

Plumbing and installation labour carries a 30‑day workmanship warranty.

No warranty applies where damage results from: Incorrect water chemistry Electrical surges Neglect, misuse, or lack of maintenance Tampering or repairs by third parties

Warranties are void if the Client fails to follow care instructions provided after installation or repair.


8. Cancellations & Scheduling

Work may be rescheduled with 48 hours’ notice.

Same‑day cancellations may incur a call‑out fee.

L&D Pools may postpone work due to unsafe weather, load shedding, or conditions that pose a risk to staff or equipment.


9. Liability

L&D Pools takes reasonable care during all work but is not liable for:

Damage caused by aging or faulty equipment

Structural movement, ground shifts, or underground leaks

Water loss due to cracks or defects not caused by L&D Pools

Chemical reactions caused by previous treatments or Client‑added chemicals

Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Liability is limited to the value of the specific service performed.


10. Health & Safety

Chemicals used during repairs or start‑up must be handled responsibly.

Clients must keep children and pets away from the pool for at least 2 hours after chemical treatment.

Staff may refuse to work if conditions are unsafe or access is obstructed.


11. POPIA Compliance

L&D Pools collects only the personal information necessary to provide services and manage accounts. Information is stored securely and will not be shared with third parties except where required for service delivery or by law.


12. Termination of Services

L&D Pools may terminate services if:

The Client repeatedly fails to pay on time

Unsafe or hostile conditions are present

The Client breaches these Terms & Conditions

The Client may terminate ongoing services with 30 days’ written notice.


13. Acceptance

By accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, or allowing work to begin, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
